The Dark One brings Illyena back to life and offers to trade her to Rand
in return for Rand submitting to the Dark One. (On page 759, Rand
suddenly realizes that Illyena, his dead love from over 3,000 years ago,
might live again, in the same way that Rand is the reincarnation of
Illyena's husband Lews!).
Rand bonds Seanchan Empress Fortuona in the same way that Asha'man have
been binding Aes Sedai.
Rand or an Asha'man bonds a female Forsaken, enabling him to control her
without torture.
13 channeling DFs and 13 Fades turn both Morgase (a very weak channeler)
and Fortuona (who has trained sul'dam, indicating that she can channel)
to the Shadow.
Whitecloak leader Galad proposes marriage to Egwene (IIRC, he was
attracted to her at one point). Egwene (making a shocking connection)
orders White Tower head cook Laras arrested for being a Darkfriend.
(Page 599 of tGS: Verin says that "You'd sooner find a Whitecloak
marrying an Aes Sedai than find Laras swearing to the Great Lord."). I
wonder how Verin got Laras to make her poisoned tea.
Rand discovers that Elaida is Illyena Reborn.
