Faster than Traveling?

While re-reading the books, I came upon some interesting text that I
had not noticed the first time through/didn't know what I was reading.
It leads me to believe that there could be a way of transporting
oneself to another location faster than Traveling. But in both cases
that I found it was by one of the Forsaken, which would be the ones who
would know how, since they came from the AoL.

'Behind him the air rippled, shimmered, solidified into a man who
looked around..."You cannot escape so easily, Dragon. It is not done
between us. It will not be done until the end of time." - Then he was
gone, and the mountain and the island stood alone.' (Dragonmount - The
Eye of the World)

That, of course, was with Ishamael, and the next incident was with
Lanfear.

' "Lews Therin was and is mine, girl. Tend him well for me until i come
for him." And she was gone. - Min gaped. One moment she was there, then
she was gone. '
(First Claiming - The Great Hunt)

In neither text is anything mentioned about a gateway, so it's not the
normal Traveling which is talked about later in the series, also there
is no mention of anyone sensing the power being used. Could this me a
form of Traveling with using the True Source?

RJ has flat-out stated that the first was True Source channeling, which is
annoying because the consensus at first was that it was Tel'aran'rhiod, and
that seemed to fit the facts. (The True Source was retconned in later.)

The second is likely an illusion weave of some sort, to make her vanish--she
didn't move at all, she just disappeared, walked out normally, then Traveled
away. (She doesn't have True Source access.)

Lanfear does have access at this time, since Moridin isn't around yet.

'Among the living, only the Chosen knew how to tap the True Power'
(Mindtrap 412 - A Crown of Swords)

It also states that they are afraid to use it, because it's more
addictive and users pay a higher cost. So what you state could very
well be what took place.

Either way, since Moridin is the only person allowed to use it now, I
guess it really doesn't affect the story-line. I was just courious.

Him being the only one to use it now, what that stated during that meeting
they all had in the last book?

Which would have been funny, if somebody could see the weave.

"Wooooo ... I'm vanishing..."

"You're still standing there."

Heh, or if it had taken place in a room. And she "vanished", and then
realised she was locked in.

"Little help?"

More likely to be more like the "Mask of Mirrors", particularly the
Lanfear incident with Min.

Could it be that Sammael used this method to escape from Shadar Logoth late
in ACOS while Rand was balefiring Liah?
