So what's up with the new non-heron-marked, though power-wrought, red-
and-black sword? Could it be this sword belonged to him as LTT? I
haven't reread the full series in a looong time, thanks mainly to my
impatience with RJ's multi-book plot slowdown, so perhaps there was
some mention or allusion previously? Thoughts from the peanut
gallery?

And I guess now that RJ has moved on, and Greandal, too, I'll never
know if the innocous fly on the wall reference mentioned as Rand
entered T'A'R during Rand's battle with Rahvin at Camealyn was Greadal
-- my own little Looney Theory -- or not. Bummer.

given in and borrowed the hardback from the library...)

If it's the one I'm thinking of, one theory is that it was actually Justice.

Well, ask Brandon; it may be in the Notes. (We've got two books to go still;
it may, given the amount of Chekhov's Gunning in this series, yet turn up
again.)

If Rand now has Artur Hawkwing's sword, what will Artur Hawkwing use as a weapon
when Mat summons him with the Horn of Valere for Tarmon Gai'don?

P.S.: Why do the Ajah colors go Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Brown, White, and Gray?
Why not Orange or Purple?

Ah, Justice. Yes, that works. Although having it mysteriously,
unknowingly, pop up and find it's way to Rand seems to push credulity
rather far; so it must be Justice.

I guess there's no reason there can't be two -- a HoV version of
Justice that materializes with Hawkwing, and the Randland original,
which stays with Rand. Did Hawkwing leave a body behind at the time
of his death? If so, what happens to Hawkwing's eye teeth, assuming
they remain wherever he was finally laid to rest, when Hawkwing is
summoned by the Horn? My guess is there's two sets of Hawkwing
dentistry cohabiting the same universe.

This was much the way I saw it.

These Heroes did not all get pushed into Tel'aran'rhiod in the flesh
when they died, clothes and armour and weapons all. There would be a
Tel'aran'rhiod version of the quintissential Hero, like Birgitte is
now; and the version of that Hero as re-woven into the Pattern
periodically. Always slightly different, but inevitably growing
towards the quintissential Hero. These re-woven Heroes would have
actual clothes and weapons made from real materials in the real world,
unlike the stuff Birgitte was torn out with. Presumably, in the case
of famous Heroes like Artur Hawkwing and his famous (but presumably
once-off) sword Justice[1], the materials would stay behind in tombs
or collectors' houses after death, and so eventually there would be a
few of them lying around. This would not prevent the quintissential
Hawkwing from having a quintissential Justice when the Horn is blown.

Rand finding the sword now is funny, but of course Jordanderson has
that covered with the handy ta'veren lampshade.

The fact that the sword is black and red - Moridin's colours - is also
interesting. But then, I am still holding out pathetic hopes that
Moridin *is* interesting, rather than being a boring-arse and utterly
fucking nonsensical recycling of Ishamael.

What? There's still a chance!

[1] Birgitte and Gaidal Cain seem to be different sorts of Heroes to
Hawkwing. They're almost like mythical or fairy-story characters,
while Hawkwing was an actual historical figure, a king with a proper
record and a sword and all sorts. I mean, Birgitte and Cain get re-
woven into the Pattern from time to time, but did this happen with
Hawkwing? Was he reborn and did he live his story out a number of
times in the past? Was he a king? Did he have a sword named Justice?

He has been spun out at least once before. His sword was named in Latin that
time. He was a king. There was also a dog.

You're not in TAR just because you dream of being there... if it
existed... But yes you can loose weight by exercising in TAR if you
maintain a sound diet and get plenty of IRL exercise. TAR is, in that
fashion, quite like Kellog's Special K.

Probably. You'd be getting less sleep, thus burning more energy. Go a
few nights without sleep, watch the fat burn off in a totally
unhealthy way.

Because Tel'aran'rhiod sleep does not count as proper restful sleep,
remember?

***@w

And doing star-jumps in your sleep probably gets your heart rate up
anyway. Especially if you're doing it in Tel'aran'rhiod.
