And I apologize if I am slow to realize this but Elaida's Foretelling
the Andoran Royal Line being the key to Tarmon Gai'Don was referring
to House Mantear not Trakand. Tigraine vanishes in 972. If Mordrellin
dies that year, with 2 years of Succession, Morgase takes the throne
in 974-975. But Elaida gains the shawl the second year of Moiraine and
Siuan being novices, 973. So Elaida is wrong about Elayne being
crucial. It is, in fact, Rand (or Luc) who is going to be crucial.
Poor Elaida has built her whole career as Aes Sedai on misinterpreting
her Foretelling.

Well, if that is true, it is in line with her general incompetence.
The only thing she does well ist to aquire power.

I always thought that was one of those prophecies open to multiple
interpretation. Both Mantear and Trakand are crucial to Tarmon
Gai'don. Mantear (is that what that house name was?) as the genesis
of Rand, and Trakand as the birthing of a nation close to the Dragon,
ready, willing, and able to throw its support behind him, despite
misgivings and mistrust of the populace at large. And hell, if
Morgase isn't queen in tEotW, who knows how things may have progressed?

I agree with you, and always found it to be fitting Elaida's character
that she failed to notice it herself. However, something I find much
more interesting is that the AS that did connect herself to Tigraine
(can't remember her name) sent off Luc to the blight. That seems to
indicate she knew what would happen to him, and that something good
will come of it.

Unless she's Black Ajah, but I somehow doubt that.

If I remember correcly we have her keepers POV (who is black aja)
confirming the Elaida is not.

I wasn't talking about Elaida. I meant the Aes Sedai that sent
Tigraine off to the waste and Luc to the blight.

Wasn't it Gitara who sent Luc to the waste? That Keeper that died after
having the foretelling of the Dragon Reborn in New Spring?

What good could Gitara Moroso think would come of Luc becoming merged with
Isam and terrorizing the World of Dreams?
