I miss this group, some of my best memories of tWoT came from here.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, raise a glass in honor of those who
once populated this little section of cyberspace. My personal heroes
were Mark Loy and John S. Novak III (i.e. the Humblest Man on the Net)

In a sick and twisted way I am happy what happened to this group. The
RJ worshippers who thought the sun shone out of his ass got exactly
what they deserve.

On the other hand, I am still reading TWOT! And for that matter I
believe I'm the most active poster in this NG in recent times. So what
does that make me? :-(

Uh. The RJ worshippers are still going strong on dragonmount.com, where
they've always been.

This group took a much more balanced view of his writing. When the
series started to suck, they said so. That, plus the whole "turning 30
and having kids" thing that people were going through, caused the group
to gradually fade away. A pity; the discussion here (mostly on non-WOT
subjects) was of very high quality, such as is not found on the usenet or
the www these days.

"Well, wasn't it due to Miss Brodie?"
"Only up to a point," said Sandy.

The books are still best sellers. Where are all those people who are
buying the books?

On page 852 of ToM, a glossary entry names the killer of Asmodean, but
where in the BOOK is the killer named?

No, you're right, we should really be paying homage to you, who
appeared in the dying days of rasfwr-j like a harbinger of doom and
dazzled us all with your wit and charm.

Actually, I was going to say that of the old guard, *you* were one of
my heroes, Erikson. Your sheer stamina and stubbornness did our big
brown land proud. And I mean that sincerely.
