Healing a missing arm

Sorry if this is a f.a.q; I couldn't find it.

We are constantly told by AS Healers:
"Anything short of Death can be Healed"

If my arm was burned off to the elbow, could Healing grow me back a new
arm? Or would I need the severed arm for them to reattach?

No, you'd then have a bleeding stump, which they can heal.

When Perrin lopped off that Aielman's hand, he ordered an Aes Sedai to
heal him. She said she couldn't grow back his hand, and he ordered her
to heal him anyway, which resulted in new skin over his stump.

It can be healed, not fixed.

Though I see no reason why the Power couldn't be used to reattach the hand
if they'd held onto it, unless the hand counted as dead..

I bet AS could come up with some pretty wicked prostheses though.

I think Matt meant the AoL AS.

The modern AS would just sniff at how woolheaded you must be to get your
arm severed.

So hang on - if my spinal column was ripped out, an AS could only 'Heal'
me in the sense that I'd be a living vegetable? How lame...

Not even Nynaeve, who supposedly is very good at healing can heal Rand
when his hand is burnt of. Perhaps it'd be possible if the hand was
still intact.

I propose that a hand be harvested from a recently dead man, set against
Rand's stump, and Nynaeve's Healing applied.

Answered in KoD, when Nynaeve couldn't regrow Rand's missing hand.

Would it be possible to harvest an arm from a just dead person and
attach it to one who has just lost one's arm, then have Nynaeve Heal it
into place?
